Over the past two years, 16 training courses were provided to 450 professionals from 79 countries on topics related to disaster risk management, archival collections, World Heritage sites, archaeological sites, traditional crafts, stone and wood conservation, exhibition planning, communication skills, and collection storage. Specifically, 11 projects through the RE-ORG program involved 230 professionals from 33 countries working to improve collection storage at 145 museums in 30 countries. Looking ahead, more training partnerships are planned for 2020-21 to continue building a global network of conservation professionals.

Beyond emergency remote learning and teaching
A presentation for Perspective 5: How has COVID-19 impacted how we teach and learn architecture, in the series Conversations on post-COVID-19 Perspectives for Architecture in South Africa.
In this presentation Jolanda Morkel reflects on her experiences in learning, teaching, research, studio facilitation, and learning design, to share her recent observations, discoveries, and some lingering questions. She relates the post-COVID-19 conditions in South Africa to global and pre-pandemic realities to put it in perspective. Jolanda draws on the work of Professors Achille Mbembe, Ashraf Salama and Lesley Lokko to prompt reflection on society and the role of the University, the implications of emergency remote learning and teaching, in relation to the legacy model and its deficiencies, that were amplified by the Pandemic. She advocates for purposeful and student-centred learning design that will move beyond the binary, to consider the range of learning settings and experiences between the online and the onground, the synchronous and the asynchronous, and the formal and informal learning settings and dimensions. Such an approach will not be fixated on the tools, but consider the pedagogy. It will consider the content, methodologies, role models and languages that students can relate to. Jolanda cautions against the practical and ethical complexities associated with the use of technology for learning and teaching, including data analytics, surveillance, staff workloads, university infrastructure and support, digital literacies of staff and students, suggesting that these should consciously be addressed through learning experience design. The presentation concludes with the challenge to be open enough to recognise the opportunities that the pandemic revealed and to be brave enough to take these on.

Digital cultural heritage data from libraries, archives and museums have seen exciting changes in the last decade with the discussion about open access to their collections. This keynote will elaborate on this journey and the challenges ahead, told from the perspective of the Rijksmuseum, one of the early open data champions in the Open GLAM world.

The Corridor Manchester Partnership was formed in 2007 as a limited company with the strategic vision to leverage the unique combination of assets in the area, including universities, hospitals, and research institutions, to drive economic growth and create a globally leading innovation district. The Partnership includes organizations like Bruntwood, the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, and Manchester City Council. It aims to capitalize on the co-location of these high-value, knowledge-based assets that already generate 20% of the city-region's economic output and employ 60,000 people, with the goal of generating 20,000 additional jobs by 2025.

This demo will showcase Jisc Historical Texts and new collections, features and visualisations that have been developed over the last year.
Historical Texts provides access to a wide range of historically significant digital collections that are heavily used in teaching, learning and research including Early English Books Online (EEBO), Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO) and 65,000 texts from the British Library.
A number of innovative visualisations such as hospital maps, wall of images, timelines, and body parts search have been developed to aid the exploration of the content.
